Hitty, from the book, “Hitty, Her First Hundred Years”, by Rachel Field, is one of the most loyal and thoughtful dolls there ever was. This very quality of being ‘alive’ so to speak, having thoughts and feelings, and being able to have independent perceptions, is at the very core of the story. If you haven’t read the book yet, I wholeheartedly recommend it…and if you have read it, you know exactly what I mean. You just can’t help loving her, and she is every bit as ‘alive’ as the humans in her life. My Hitty inspired doll is made from wool instead of wood like the original, but I hope you find her just as endearing as the original. In the photos below you will see my little personal Hitty, Hitty Daley with her constant companion Cleo (a little Hubley pup). I do enjoy sharing adventures with her. There are many other Hitty dolls made for others as well…may she live on in many hearts and homes!

I love her! I think she might have some Okie cousins soon to be made. I love her little face…. Have fun on your adventures off to find materials….. *winks*
Thanks so much Kim! And you’re the first person to leave a comment…much gratitude for that too, and thanks for stopping in. Erica
