Erica Daley is a maker and artist inspired by nature. She works in a variety of mediums including textiles and fibre, paper collage, watercolours, and wood. Her work explores texture and design through loosely representational abstract forms, and in writing stories and creating nature-based fantasy worlds.
Erica grew up on the west coast of the United States and has been a lifelong dreamer with a creative imagination. She spent a great deal of time outdoors as a child playing with rocks, sticks, and leaves, and exploring and observing wildlife. She studied child development in college, and has worked as a teacher and artist. She is married and has a grown son, whom she homeschooled. Teaching and homeschooling allowed Erica to enjoy childhood well beyond her own years as a child, and she brings this sense of magic and wonder to her work.
Philosophy
Erica has a profound respect for nature and chooses to create in the most eco-friendly manner she can find. She does this by using upcycled materials, exploring ways to make sustainable materials, and researching and making materials based on old methods developed before modern materials were available. She endeavors to inspire others to be creative in an earth friendly way.
